knitted neck rainbow

…is what I am tentatively calling this latest (pretty gay) knitted creation that seemed to emerge out of my busy needles without much planning – which started with super fat wood needles and some organic Japanese hand-dyed cottons, continuing into smaller needles and some some substantial brilliant blue wools, and terminating in a triangle of raw wool from my Abruzzian sheep, which I river-washed, and carded, and spun into yarn, and then loosely knit – included here more for meaning than for comfort – since it is too rough and scratchy to want rubbing up against your face, featuring prickly weedy spurs still embedded in the rough fibers.
