A continually growing installation
with a dynamic interaction between the space of the wind tunnel and the space
of my garden. The relationship between the two spaces will be one of source
(the garden) and specimen (the installation). In the wind tunnel graphite
and ink drawings of the garden space (i.e. a forty foot rubbing of the lower
garden staircase) will be unfurled in the form of long scrolls and large sheets
of paper, initially establishing the volume of the installation. The installation
will further develop over the course of the show, through the accumulation of
cuttings, dead insects, pressed weeds, chicken feathers, eggs, flowers, dried
cactus membrane, and whatever else the garden brings forth. The
ultimate form will be as unpredictable as the weather, and will change daily.
Photographic and/or video documentation of the garden will maintain a connection
between these two changing spaces.
